Sony to Make Laptops Go ‘Green’
For all the IT nerds out there, here’s a solution from Sony that would lighten the burden on your ‘green’ conscience!
The new W series notebook eco-friendly PC from Sony is one of their latest additions to the market and it is preceded by all the talk of its green profile.
So what’s special?
- The notebook chassis is made of plastic consisting of about 20 % recycled compact disks
- Shipped in a stylish and reusable carrying case made of recycled plastic bottles
- Absence of a printed manual
What’s the point?
To demonstrate Sony’s commitment to lower the power consumption of their products and greenhouse gas emissions at their facilities…
It is as impressive from the inside too…
These notebooks, priced at $ 450 to start with, have high-definition, 10.1-inch screens and hard drives with 250 gigabytes of storage. The new machine is billed by Sony as the ideal ‘secondary’ personal computer for light tasks, Internet browsing, and online social networking.
