Solar dress that can charge gadgets

Seems like, solar power is gradually peeping into world of fashion. Abbey Liebman, a student from Cornell University, has designed a solar powered dress which can charge gadgets like iPods and phones. The completed work was partially done by Cornell University’s Textiles Nanotech Laboratory in collaboration with two Italian universities.

Features of dress

  • Has Ultra thin photovoltaic films ( Ultra thin characteristic of these films enables the dress to move freely)
  • The charger has a USB port which is attached at the waist of the dress
  • The cotton threads in the dress are capable of conducting electrical currents (OMG…!)
  • The solar panels enhances the beauty of the dress (An added advantage)
