Ecokiosk – Green Alternative for Existing Street Kiosks
Designed as a green alternative for existing street kiosks, this concept dubbed “EcoKiosk” tries to cope with current economic scenario and climate change issues. Powered by the energy harvested by the solar panels at the roof, the unit can operate up to 10 hours on a single charge, this makes it capable of functioning during the night too. Moreover, for heating, ventilation and lighting purposes, the kiosk makes use of the natural light sand air with the help of its louvre style roof.
The body parts are of high quality and durable, yet recyclable. Outside, the kiosk holds several planters that, according to the designer, grow plants which are capable of absorbing the atmospheric Carbon Dioxide. This, in addition to enhancing the aesthetics forms and the structure of the unit, helps to reduce CO2 as well.
Since the design’s intended to be used outdoors, the guttter and the downspout system have been designed in a way that enables them to collect rainwater. Collected water can be stored in a storage tank located underneath the roof and will be used for watering the plants and as tap water.
