Nature-Loving Switches and Sockets

Power Switches and Sockets Bringing Awareness to Nature
Growth Plate is a series of innovative power switches and sockets designed by Andrew Harmon as a student project for the Human Centered Design program offered at Northern Michigan University. Although they seem real, the mosses, flowers and lichens growing on those surfaces are in fact artificial elements made of painted urethane. So what the designer is trying to achieve is to make those fake but realistic elements come into direct contact with the users and increase their awareness and reminds them of the existence of living elements of our surrounding environment.
