Giant Spider Webs Covering Trees in Pakistan

Here’s something that might give you the creeps. Take a look at the images below. Those cocoon-like structures covering those entire trees are giant spider webs … and they are REAL !!!

Interestingly, this was an unexpected side-effect of a flooding incident in Pakistan. It is thought that the flooding has forced millions of spiders living in that region to climb up in those trees in order to survive the rising water level, and eventually the spiders have decided to settle ‘Up’ there, in the treetops, as the water took so long to recede.

This incredible phenomenon has also given rise to another important life-saving event, where mosquitoes being trapped in those webs and eventually killed, lessening the mosquito bites, thus reducing the risk of malaria.
